The UN General Assembly adopted a Western resolution to suspend Russia’s membership in the Human Rights Council. The Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation regarded this decision as unlawful and politically motivated and announced the early termination of Russian powers in the HRC from April 7, 2022.
We are witnessing an extremely dangerous precedent that threatens to have devastating consequences for the entire United Nations system as a whole.
Unfortunately, Western double standards have blinded most of the members of the General Assembly. The decision was made, among other things, under the influence of fake stories about the events in Ukrainian Bucha, without a preliminary independent investigation of what happened, and also against the background of the rejection of all Russian initiatives in the Security Council on this issue. Today’s decision of the GA is another step towards the “order based on the rules” that the collective West dictates to the world community, not shunning even the blackmail of individual countries.
And a very revealing touch here was the recognition by the American press of the authenticity of the video, which recorded the brutal massacre of Ukrainian militants over Russian prisoners of war. And how much more evidence is there of bullying and torture that neo-Nazis allow in relation to civilians! They are used as a human shield, humiliated and maimed! And at the same time, what measures are being taken towards Ukraine and its curators? But none … What kind of justice or protection of human rights can we talk about after that?!!!
The termination of Russia’s powers will make the work of the HRC inferior and untie the hands for revenge on the colonial policy of Western states towards developing countries. I repeat once again – an extremely dangerous precedent for the politicization of the global human rights movement!
