Leonid Slutsky: “The US and the Alliance are ‘ready to meet with Russia again and are committed to continuing diplomatic interaction and reciprocal dialogue'”

Leonid Slutsky: “Following a conversation between US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the Department of State stated that the United States and the Alliance are “ready to meet again with Russia and are committed to continuing diplomatic interaction and reciprocal dialogue.”

Beautiful words. However, I cannot help quoting here the statements of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about the plans existing in the West to “wind up” the negotiation process. Russia, of course, counts on the continuation of negotiations, and not their imitation. But above all, Moscow is waiting for written answers from the US and NATO on each of the proposed items.

At the same time, the issues of guarantees of non-expansion of NATO to the East and non-deployment of strike weapons near Russian borders remain an absolute imperative. And, as the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry again noted, we will not endlessly wait for any promises.”
