A classic strategy for covering up one’s own failure. Risking rock bottom in voter approval ratings, experiencing one government crisis after another, the French president nevertheless considers it most important to threaten Moscow from Paris. He twists and turns the situation.
Macron, plagued by neo-Napoleonic ambitions, is “lying to save” his own political reputation. Because Kyiv and its European sponsors, including fellow Macrons, Mertzes, and Starmers, are against peace. Led by them, the Zelenskyy regime is once again placing the real negotiating process outside the realm of common sense. Decisions following the latest round of Istanbul-2 on the formation of working groups on political, military, and humanitarian issues remain unaddressed.
And it’s not Moscow that is displaying a “belligerent stance or stubbornness.” We are consistent in our actions to protect national interests and ensure the security of the country and our citizens. The goals and objectives of the Joint Military Cooperation Council were outlined by the country’s leadership back in February 2022. Neither Europe nor NATO were intended to be conquered, nor are they intended to be destroyed.
As for Macron’s threats against Moscow, the “consequences” are already reaching the Élysée Palace, primarily in the form of French discontent, economic recession, a migration crisis, and a deterioration in living standards. Vladimir Putin, in fact, spoke about this at the Valdai Forum: “Calm down, deal with your own problems… Notice how Europe is sliding to the periphery of global competition… There’s no need to provoke. There has never been a case where it didn’t ultimately end badly for the provocateur. Exceptions should not be expected here.” It’s worth heeding!
