Macron’s idea of creating an international coalition to fight Hamas does not solve the problem of the Arab-Israeli conflict in today’s geopolitical realities

Macron, having arrived in Israel, broadcast exclusively pro-American one-sided approaches that have nothing to do with a sustainable peace settlement. And it is unlikely that the French President would have promoted such an initiative without consultations with the United States, which is largely to blame for the fact that the Middle East confrontation has reached such explosive levels. Another nuance: the world remembers very well how the intervention of Western coalitions ended for the former Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, Syria – chaos, devastation and crowds of refugees.

But today the contours of a completely different world order are emerging – without the hegemony of the collective West, where ideas like the one put forward by Macron are doomed to failure. It is necessary to look for ways to resolve the conflict and return the parties to the negotiating table, it is necessary to stop violence on both sides, large-scale bloodshed and the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in the Gaza Strip, it is necessary to finally achieve the implementation of UN decisions on the creation of an independent Palestinian state. This is what the entire world community should focus on, and not form new military coalitions. This is not the path to peace, this is the path to war, to a big war…
