I hope this is how the other members of the UN Security Council, an emergency meeting of which is convening today on Russia’s initiative, will evaluate and finally condemn the actions of the American-British coalition.
Not to mention the disregard for our own Constitution – the decision to bomb Yemen was not agreed upon by Congress, which even his fellow Democrats pointed out to Biden.
The consequences of bombing on territory controlled by the Houthis, and in fact the beginning of an illegal military intervention by the United States and Britain against a sovereign state, are fraught with a sharp aggravation of the situation in the region and far beyond its borders, an escalation of tension, and new casualties among the civilian population.
It has become a rule for Washington to put together coalitions without a UN mandate on the principles of an “agreement”, hiding behind, like a “fig leaf,” supposedly defensive goals. Lies and deception! In fact, this is nothing more than a continuation of the aggressive hegemonic policy of the United States and the replacement of the “force of law” with the “law of force.” The United States, with its military adventures around the world, is becoming a real threat to global security.
