Among the latest decisions of the assembly are the refusal to recognize the elected President of the Russian Federation, a call for the “decolonization” of Russia and the demand for the confiscation of illegally frozen Russian assets in the West. New European values and standards of “democracy”: denial of the results of the free will of the people, undermining sovereignty and territorial integrity, support for interstate banditry!
Russia’s withdrawal from the Council of Europe in 2022 (the only right decision in such conditions) has obviously destroyed the fragile balance of sanity and legal framework in Strasbourg. Now a bunch of Russophobes are writing draft resolutions, essentially with a plan for a coup d’état, as well as the expropriation of gold and foreign exchange reserves. PACE is rapidly losing authority and is turning from a once solid parliamentary platform of the most broad-based European organization into a cheap circus arena for political manipulation by the West.
PACE resolutions are advisory in nature. I would say what needs to be done with such recommendations, but my upbringing does not allow it.
