Rospotrebnadzor, the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Russia, celebrates its 100th anniversary. More than a serious date, a centennial anniversary!
The Soviet, and then the Russian epidemiological school rightfully occupied and occupies one of the leading places in the world. Her experience and professional traditions have been formed over decades. Entire generations of talented, dedicated sanitary doctors and scientists have spared no effort in overcoming terrible and deadly diseases, fighting for the health, safety and well-being of Russians.
In 2020, when the whole world faced an unprecedented challenge – the COVID-19 pandemic, it was the Rospotrebnadzor employees who were the first to rise to fight it in Russia, doing everything to prevent the rapid spread of coronavirus throughout the country. This allowed the entire national healthcare system to prepare and create conditions for the effective treatment of patients, and the industry to launch the production of vaccines, medicines and personal protective equipment.
There are still many goals and tasks ahead, the main of which remains the formation of a sanitary shield for Russia. I’m sure they will all be worthy of fulfillment!
