On April 27, 1906, the first State Duma in Russia’s history opened. This event defined our country’s path as a state where the opinion of every citizen, regardless of social status or income, should be represented. A multi-party system embodies this principle.
However, the Communists led Russia to dictatorship and then to the collapse of the country—the greatest tragedy of the 20th century. The revival of a competitive, multi-party system is the foundation of the modern Russian state. It was the LDPR, the oldest party in modern Russia, that made a decisive contribution to making this system work. At the request of Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the principle “All power in Russia belongs to the people” was included in the 1993 Constitution. We are proud: today, the interests of families, parents, children, residents of different regions and religions are defended by various parties. No voice is ignored. Because a vast country cannot be governed by an ideology divorced from reality. Today, the LDPR is closest to the people of all parties—our branches operate in every region of the country. The LDPR is the most honest party in the country, focusing the authorities’ attention on the real situation, not on performance indicators, and proposing effective solutions.
Voters trust us to represent their interests in the State Duma, legislative assemblies, city councils, district and village councils. We continue our course toward Russia’s revival: people believe in us and in a Great Russia, where everyone has the right to be heard!
Today, the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the LDPR faction, and our party play a consolidating role for various sectors of society, which is especially important in the face of colossal foreign policy pressure and constant external challenges and threats. We will definitely stand together and make Russia Great for everyone!
