Speech by Leonid Slutsky on the results of referendums

Plenary session 28.09.2022

Head of the LDPR faction L.E. Slutsky:

As the head of the party, which today has almost 350 thousand people in its ranks, the Liberal Democratic Party, I want to congratulate everyone on the historic day when we summed up the results of the referendums held in Zaporozhye, Kherson, Donetsk, and Lugansk. Today, courageous people who gave their lives for eight years to speak Russian, raise their children in Russian and remain part of the great Russian world, have returned to Russia. Russia does not abandon its own!

I would like to draw your attention, dear colleagues, to what is being said today in the West – some kind of real animal grin of our, as I call them, strategic friends. German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock went further than others, who spoke on the topic that a soldier with a Kalashnikov stood next to each family, people were shot, raped and then given three days to put crosses. Some incredible bullshit. Unfortunately, it is impossible to say otherwise, and therefore it is necessary to clearly respond when such high-ranking officials in the West, our, as I call them, strategic friends, say something like that.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also spoke in a dangerous way yesterday, saying that “we, the United States, are for NATO weapons to be fired at territories that have become part of Russia already when they are Russian.”

This is the most dangerous provocation. Blinken stated this immediately after the end of the ministerial week at the session of the UN General Assembly, and from today, communicating with dozens of colleagues from foreign parliaments, we will soon be at the session of the inter-parliamentary union with Peter Tolstoy – there are more than a hundred national delegations – we will continue to declare such provocative statements resolutely and loud protest.

And we see what is happening in the Western and Ukrainian telegram channels, which are simply tearing themselves up in impotent rage. In particular, the Ukrainian Telegram channel Resident, known for its rabid anti-Russian stance, speaks out on the topic that Zelensky’s office is now concentrating on one thing – on the anti-mobilization track, in order to create panic and bring people to the streets in Russia. Such fabrications, unfortunately, correlate with the unreasonable actions of a number of military commissars in recent days, as a result of which there were attempts to mobilize pensioners, students, the disabled, people with bronchial asthma, epilepsy. There are things that are far beyond common sense.

The criteria are known – the military registration specialty needed on the fields of the Special Military Operation, health, combat experience.

We should not, with our apparently excessive actions, pour water on the mill of our enemies.

Therefore, today there are several thousand such requests on the LDPR hotline.

I must express my gratitude, Vyacheslav Viktorovich, to you – after your criticism, the governors, who really personally head the draft commissions, began to actively intervene in such situations. Therefore, I think, like all other parliamentary parties, we will keep the issue of partial mobilization under daily, hourly and constant control.

Colleagues, I want to say in connection with the fact that the Liberal Democratic Party has repeatedly called for support for our armed forces. Now, just when the NMD is underway, we would like to support the appointment of Deputy Chairman of the Minister of Defense Mikhail Evgenyevich Mizintsev, whom we know very well for leading a key structure in the military architecture of modern Russia for a number of years – the national center for defense control. It remains under his control. And besides, the rear of the armed forces. And now the problems with uniforms, about which we also receive hundreds of letters, I am sure, will be resolved in a real way in the coming weeks.

I would like to support and congratulate Mikhail Evgenievich Mizintsev on this high, responsible and very difficult appointment. Let’s work together.

As for today’s agenda, I would like to say that today the bill proposed by the LDPR faction on credit holidays will be voted on in the second and third readings – we must support the volunteers in every possible way, those who are defending us on the front lines today. Therefore, job guarantees – the decision was made yesterday, and credit holidays – the most important decision. And I urge my colleagues to unanimously support this bill.

And now I would like to once again focus our attention on the tasks that lie ahead in the coming months and years – everything that will be significant in the country in the coming years, I dare say, will take place in new territories. We need to speedily resolve the issues of restoring destroyed infrastructure, we need to apply here, at the State Duma site, all our experience, knowledge and adopt dozens of legislative acts so that these territories, like Crimea and Sevastopol once, which returned to their native harbor, become part of Russia , also in full and in full format entered the legal field of Russia.

Such work for However, we have begun, therefore, I think that we will take the most active part, but it is necessary to work with those who are in Zaporozhye, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson not only here, in the State Duma – it is necessary to work with the people themselves in the territories. Therefore, we will further strengthen our legal aid centers open in all territories, our party offices – now this is Russia. We will work on those burning issues that the Liberal Democratic Party has always put at the forefront, as a political force aimed at the well-being of every family and every person.

Today, the ninth volunteer troop of the Liberal Democratic Party is working there, we will concentrate our efforts on knowing the problems, helping, and solving them together. And, I think that this is a very difficult job, it will take us a lot of time, but this is a noble job, so we are open to any interaction here.

And, in fact, now, speaking about the fact that we have taken a historic step on the initiative of the President of Russia – people have returned home – we, of course, must understand that today we also have a huge responsibility for these people, who now, finally, when they return home, they will live in the full sense of the word as human beings, they will teach their children in Russian very well.

And, addressing those who hear me now in Zaporozhye, Kherson, Donetsk, Luhansk, I want to say – welcome home!
