Strict control over migration flows is extremely important for the peace of mind of the country’s residents

The number of workers coming to us from neighboring countries has decreased, and the reason here is not only the change in the exchange rate of the ruble, but also the gradual establishment of order in working with migrants, which the LDPR constantly talks about.

Migrant workers are an uncontrollable element of the economy. In case of troubles, they either simply leave or become a problem for the authorities, as was the case during the pandemic. An unreliable support that simultaneously lowers the cost of labor and provokes a future bubble in those areas that are currently served by visitors.

There are enough people in Russia who are ready to work efficiently for the sake of their families. We have almost 2 million unemployed. Of course, they cannot compete with migrants, who often earn money illegally and unofficially, as a result of which entire areas in cities are criminalized. We need a system of labor reserves within the country, and where these reserves are not enough, it is permissible to attract migrants, but under strict control.

The digital ruble can help in legalizing migrant labor. If employers are required to pay migrants only in this way, they will be forced to “whitewash” existing vacancies and attract more of our citizens, who, undoubtedly, treat their work more responsibly. Then only talented people who are ready to work for the benefit of our country will come to Russia.
