The Committee on International Affairs discussed today the problem of protecting Russians in trouble abroad

With us were Viktor But, Kirill Vyshinsky and, of course, Maria Butina, who do not need a separate introduction. We outlined concrete steps:

There is a need for a unified system for the protection of citizens subjected to persecution in foreign countries, a single, in fact, coordinating center. In recent years, the unhealthy trend of unjustified detention of Russians abroad has only worsened. The undisputed leaders here are the United States, which launched a hunt for our compatriots around the world.

Not only a system of protection is needed, but also warnings. When Russians travel abroad – especially to unfriendly countries in the current situation – they need to be informed in detail about what our geopolitical opponents are “capable of”.

Legislative responsibility for Russophobia is needed, up to the introduction of relevant provisions in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Russia does not abandon its own. We will fight for everyone!
