It often seems to young residents of large cities that the House of Culture is a gathering place for the “zabavushka” folk art ensemble. It used to be so. But thanks to the federal project “Cultural Environment”, the situation is radically different. Now these are modern modular libraries, rooms for circles, cinema halls. Gradually, the network of cultural centers in small towns and villages is being revived.
The development of the leisure sector is a very important issue, especially for northern cities that are not spoiled by entertainment centers like millionaires.
Young people are leaving their native regions because they feel cut off from the life they see in vivid pictures on social networks.
Arkhangelsk is a city of incredible beauty. And an important task is to make it comfortable and attractive for young people. This means creating public spaces where you can comfortably work, communicate, comprehend culture and art. Unfortunately, the city budget cannot support the repair of cultural centers, only the Severny needs more than 250 million.
The solution will be to expand the areas of the Cultural Environment program specifically for the Arctic territories of Russia. So that cities with a population of up to 500 thousand people can renovate cultural institutions. The Liberal Democratic Party will soon initiate changes to the program in order to expand the list of possible participants.
