The family of the mobilized should not be deprived of benefits, Leonid Slutsky is convinced

The Liberal Democratic Party will support in the second reading amendments to the law on state benefits to citizens with children. We are talking about the introduction from January 1, 2023 of a universal benefit for pregnant women and families with children under 17 years of age. The faction also proposed its own amendment to the document – on supporting the families of mobilized

Now families with incomes below the subsistence level can apply for several different benefits: benefits for women in early pregnancy, with children under three years old, from 3-7 years old, with children under 17 years old.

When moving from one category to another, citizens need to submit documents again and prove to officials their right to payment.

‒ The draft law that we will consider today removes this extra bureaucracy, ‒ said Leonid Slutsky.

The document also introduces the concept of “comprehensive assessment of citizens’ need for benefits.” We are talking about an in-depth assessment of income so that the assistance is really targeted, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party explained

“It is important to ensure that there are no excesses when the cost of a sold mobile phone or other far-fetched grounds is recorded in income and benefits are interfered with, all this is taken into account in the text of the bill, we worked on it in detail,” the parliamentarian explained.

The Liberal Democratic Party has prepared its own amendment to the bill – when calculating the average per capita income of a family, payments to the mobilized should not be taken into account.

“That is, the family of a person mobilized to participate in the SVO should not be deprived of benefits if they are entitled to it, this is important,” concluded Leonid Slutsky.
