The Inter-Parliamentary Union supported Russia in the fight against international terrorism

At the IPU session in Geneva, the majority of parliamentarians today expressed their most sincere condolences to us, the members of the Russian delegation, in connection with the barbaric terrorist attack in Crocus. The international parliamentary community (the IPU includes more than 170 countries) is shocked by the bloody atrocity of the militants. The world mourns together with Russia.

International terrorism has neither nationality nor religion. This is a global evil and the main threat of the century! Only followers of Nazism do not understand this! The Inter-Parliamentary Union is ready to make its contribution and develop draft resolutions to counter the “plague” of the 21st century.

On the current agenda: on the sidelines of the IPU session, they held a meeting of delegations of the BRICS countries, where they came up with the initiative to create a BRICS+ group. An important point: representatives of all states interested in the organization’s topics will be able to join it.

They also discussed preparations for the upcoming meeting of the chairmen of the foreign policy committees of the parliaments of the “ten” countries in Moscow on April 11-12. There was also talk about holding a BRICS parliamentary summit, which will be held in St. Petersburg this summer as part of Russia’s chairmanship in the organization. We are on the verge of creating a single BRICS parliamentary dimension! But what it will be like is too early to say.
