The Parliament of Georgia today adopted the law “On Transparency of Foreign Influence” in its final reading

Despite calls from Washington and Brussels to abandon this decision, threats to block Tbilisi’s road to the European Union and protests inspired from outside.

The “street,” fueled by foreign NGOs, reacted with mass riots. The protesters stormed and broke through the metal fences near the parliament building, openly provoking the police. The situation going beyond the legal framework with quite predictable consequences is clearly the result of the actions of Western politicians who are systematically increasing the intensity of aggression and confrontation in Tbilisi. Their fault and their responsibility.

The West clearly intends to “punish” the Georgian authorities for their independent choice of development. The Bundestag is demanding that the EU take measures against official Tbilisi, and the US Congress is threatening a package of sanctions. Familiar methods of intervention and struggle against those who decide to follow the sovereign path against the “will” of the collective hegemon. And, of course, double standards in action.

Russia is not interfering. Only the people of Georgia and the parliament they elected can decide how and by what laws to live in their own country. We wish you strength and perseverance in defending national interests.
