The President summed up the events of June 24. The armed rebellion was doomed to failure.

The President responded to those who tried to bring the country to the brink of civil war with illegal and unworthy of the honor of the Russian army.

We avoided a lot of blood. But the Liberal Democratic Party continues to insist: to ensure security, we need a contract army of at least 7 million military and civilian personnel. The country does not need any PMCs and their analogues. Of course, there are problems in the active army, but PMCs cannot solve them.

The problems of the Armed Forces cannot be hushed up. We know them, we receive hundreds of requests every day. We are ready to solve them together with the Ministry of Defense, each in his own place, and thereby ensure the combat readiness of our army.

We are proud of our soldiers who did not obey the provocative appeals of the traitors of Russia.
An attempt to unleash a fratricidal confrontation in the country failed and I am sure it will never happen again. But there are those who cannot be returned. The Liberal Democratic Party, together with the whole country, honors the memory of the fallen soldiers – those who remained faithful to their oath to the end. I believe that forgiveness should not apply to those rebels who killed the pilots, in fact, their comrades-in-arms. These people should be brought to justice and suffer the most severe punishment.
