The second round of talks on the Ukrainian settlement has concluded in Abu Dhabi

The second round of talks on the Ukrainian settlement in Abu Dhabi has concluded, preceded by a meeting in Moscow between the Russian President and US Presidential envoys. The details of the agreements remain to be analyzed in the capitals, but the process’s progress toward a systemic outcome is clear.

Against this backdrop, it is crucial to avoid provocations. Zelenskyy only talks about constructive negotiations, peace, and “parameters for ending the war.” In reality, Banderites continue to carry out terrorist attacks. Right during negotiations in the UAE, the Ukrainian Armed Forces bombed a civilian ambulance belonging to a Russian medical team in the Kherson region, killing everyone instantly.

Washington must not turn a blind eye to the junta’s bloody crimes against civilians and violations of international humanitarian norms. Russia has repeatedly expressed gratitude to the Donald Trump administration for its steps toward ending the conflict in Ukraine. We hope that the “spirit of Anchorage” will remain the foundation of the negotiation process and the development of a formula for sustainable peace.
