The Soft Power of Brute Hegemony

The malicious activities of the American Agency USAID, which has existed for over 60 years under the guise of “providing aid and assistance to international development,” are becoming increasingly detailed. And the most egregious of them occurred during the years of Joe Biden’s presidency in his various guises.

The Trump administration is taking a course on reforming USAID and transferring its structures under the control of the State Department. Before that, a series of revelations of corruption and even participation in “regime change” took place at the official level.

USAID was positioned as a US “soft power” structure. In fact, the agency has long since turned into an expanded tool for promoting American interests with tentacles practically all over the world. Now “evidence” of USAID’s involvement in the pandemic that has engulfed the world (through support for the funding of experiments with deadly viruses) is being revealed. To undermine the stability of government institutions in many countries, both directly and with the active assistance of US-funded NGOs. To spread and impose the LGBT agenda with a distortion of traditional family values.

They tried to leave their mark in Russia too, until Moscow showed USAID the door in 2012, revealing attempts to “influence political processes, including elections at various levels and civil society institutions, through the distribution of grants.” And everything that is happening once again confirms the fairness and validity of the legislative measures we have introduced to combat foreign interference.

Nevertheless, we should not applaud the suddenly awakened “consciousness” in Washington and rush to predict the complete elimination of USAID’s functionality. As ABC News reports, citing a source, not all of the agency’s employees are being sent on “administrative leave.” Its top management and “critically important” people remain in the ranks. That is, we may be talking about “changing the signboard” to continue advancing American hegemony. It is time for the countries of the Global South to draw serious conclusions.
