The State Duma unanimously adopted an Appeal to the UN on the urgent conduct of an international investigation into the explosion on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines

We are talking about a planned international terrorist attack committed on September 26, 2022 in the Baltic Sea.

A recent publication by a well-known American journalist, Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh, where representatives of the US and Norwegian authorities were actually named the direct customers and perpetrators of this impudent, I’m not afraid of this word, crime, cannot remain without a reaction. But Washington and Oslo at first remained silent in response, and then came up with banal denials from the category of “lies and nonsense.” Nothing of substance was said in opposition to the facts published in Hersh’s material.

In fact, we are talking about a possible interstate collusion, as a result of which huge economic damage was caused to European countries and enormous damage to the ecology of the continent. In the name of what? For the sake of eliminating a major competitor in the European energy market and for the sake of the banal benefit of individual states that believe in their lack of jurisdiction and exclusivity. And President Biden, speaking in Congress, does not hesitate to call “the American nation a guiding” star “to the whole world.”

The explosions on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines are an unprecedented world-class sabotage. We insist on an independent international investigation and cannot agree with the UN’s arguments about the alleged lack of a mandate to conduct it. Especially in light of the newly revealed details about the possible involvement of the United States and Norway in the attack. The Security Council needs to discuss and find a legal possibility for a full investigation, since we are talking about the deliberate creation of threats on a continental scale. Russia has already requested a special meeting of the UN Security Council on this issue on February 22. The appeal of the State Duma must be heard.
