The United Nations must finally give an objective assessment of the actions of Hollande and Merkel, who from the very beginning bluffed when signing the Minsk agreements.
In 2015, the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 2202, which approved the agreements to resolve the intra-Ukrainian crisis and called for their full implementation. But Kyiv began to sabotage Minsk-2 almost immediately, refusing to fully contact the authorities of the then newly proclaimed republics of Donbass. But Washington and Brussels continued to churn out anti-Russian sanctions, accusing Moscow of violating agreements to which we have never been a party.
More recently, ex-German Chancellor Angela Merkel and ex-French President Francois Hollande said that the purpose of the Minsk agreements for them, as it turned out, was to give Ukraine time for military strengthening. That is, in fact, Minsk-2 was a “smoke screen”. The so-called “guarantors” deliberately went on a deception – and Donbass, and Russia, and, it turns out, the UN.
So why is the office of the Secretary General of the Organization silent after the public confessions of bluff made by the direct participants of the Minsk process from France and Germany? Stefan Dujarric, the official representative of the UN Secretary General, was asked a direct question about this, but he evaded the answer. He only stated – “this is a very legitimate question”, and he would leave the historical analysis to journalists, former officials and historians.
Doesn’t Dujarric himself want to remember the history of the formation of the UN and the events that preceded it? The League of Nations, for example, and the reasons for its collapse?
As long as the collective West is trying to dominate the Secretariat of the Organization and, in fact, makes it dance to the tune of Washington, the performance of the UN’s core functions is being directly threatened.
Yes – after the confessions of Poroshenko, Merkel, Hollande – what does the whole West look like in the eyes of the voters of their countries, now freezing because of anti-Russian sanctions? And what do the UN think about this?
