The US President-elect is committed to achieving sustainable peace in the Ukrainian conflict and does not want a repeat of the Minsk agreements

Keith Kellogg, the future Special Representative for Russia and Ukraine in the Trump administration, claims that the US President-elect is focused on achieving sustainable peace in the Ukrainian conflict and does not want a repeat of the Minsk agreements. “We have seen peace processes in the past, for example, the attempt by Russia and Ukraine within the framework of the Minsk negotiation process, which clearly failed. The President does not want this. He wants a fair, sustainable and secure peace,” – a quote from an interview with the Fox Business TV channel.

So far, of course, these are declarations. Although it must be admitted – in a constructive manner. To complete the picture: the Minsk agreements 10 years ago, of course, solved and could solve the problem of settling the situation in Donbass by political and diplomatic means. But on condition of their honest implementation, and not sabotage and use by the West as a screen for arming the neo-Nazi regime.

Russia has repeatedly declared its readiness for negotiation processes – on the basis of the Istanbul agreements, taking into account territorial realities. And most importantly – without an anti-Russian conspiracy behind our backs and with ironclad security guarantees for our country.

Lessons have been learned. And yes, we agree with Trump (if we believe Kellogg) – there should be no second “Minsk-2”. As for the new conditions for a fair and sustainable peace, Vladimir Putin has clearly and distinctly outlined them. Russia will not allow the formation of a NATO outpost on its borders!
