The US refuses to consider the BRICS as its geopolitical competitor or rival. Sounds almost like a diagnosis.

They simply cannot recognize the rapid loss of their hegemony and the new geopolitical reality that is emerging today.

Meanwhile, the economies of the BRICS countries in terms of purchasing power parity are confidently bypassing the G7, where the United States continues to set the tone, and the rest remain as junior partners. Inevitably, the role of BRICS, in which all member states are represented on an equal basis – and this is the most important factor in the attractiveness of the association (!) – will only increase. Confirmation of this is that the number of those wishing to join Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa already exceeds 20 countries and continues to grow. This is indeed a big challenge to the adherents of the unipolar system and is no longer just an application, but a real step in defining the contours of a just world architecture.

Here is just one of its signs: BRICS is actively moving towards the creation of a single unit of account, which will inevitably bring down the “power” of the US dollar. In general, the process of de-dollarization in the world has become irreversible, also thanks to the cooperation of countries within the association. This is already acknowledged by the leading Western media.

But BRICS today is not only a structure within which economic cooperation is gaining momentum. She also has other perspectives. Chinese leader Xi Jinping believes that the association should actively mediate in resolving sensitive issues and promote political solutions. And Indian Prime Minister Modi proposed the creation of a joint space research consortium. And at the same time, all the BRICS countries oppose the hegemony and neo-colonial policy of the countries of the collective West, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated speaking at the summit.

Perhaps one of the main outcomes of the South African summit is that BRICS has reached a qualitatively new level. In the future, the organization, step by step, can become one of the world centers of influence and decision-making based on international law and the principles laid down in the UN Charter.
