Zelenskyy arrived with Macron to discuss the terms of a “just and lasting peace.”
A “just and lasting peace,” as interpreted by the “coalition of the willing,” means maintaining the goal of strategically defeating Russia, maintaining foreign military contingents in Ukraine, and creating new formats for an anti-Russian stronghold. The bottom line is a continuation of the war to the last Ukrainian. Macron has already stated his intention to ask Xi Jinping to “exert pressure” (!) on Moscow for a “ceasefire.” The Chinese reaction, of course, is interesting.
Recalling the recent gems of the so-called “European diplomacy” head, Kallas, and juxtaposing them with her statement today that the EU has not been informed of the initial results of the US-Ukraine talks in Florida, it becomes clear: Zelenskyy can be received in EU capitals as often as he likes, but he will no longer have full influence on the settlement process. Europe is rapidly losing its position as a major player in history.
