The West is trying to pass off the results of the meeting in Jeddah as its “mini-victory”

But it is hardly worth talking about some kind of “triumph” for Washington with Brussels, or even more so for Ukraine.

Foreign policy spokesman for the German Soyuz-90/Green party Jurgen Trittin believes that consultations held in Saudi Arabia on a settlement in Ukraine are a “clear signal” increasing diplomatic pressure on Russia. “The German federal government, the NATO states, as well as the countries of the Global South, large countries like China and Saudi Arabia, want this war to end, thereby increasing pressure on Russia to stop the war here,” Trittin argued.

Rather, gentlemen, on the contrary. An attempt by the collective West and its Kyiv puppets to impose their Ukrainian-anti-Russian concept on the countries of the global South or to push Zelensky’s so-called “peace formula” as a basis failed. The meeting in Jeddah ended for them, in fact, without results and – which is symbolic – without a final communiqué. (https://t.me/tass_agency/204330) Clearly unsuccessful for the West tug-of-war set on the side of the “golden billion”. And what real result of the negotiations can we talk about if Russia was not invited to participate in them? A meaningless event in advance, by definition, is not about peace, which the United States still does not need in Ukraine.

A number of our partners also took part in the consultations, including in the BRICS, whose mediation efforts Moscow highly appreciates. We remain open to discussing diplomatic ways out of the crisis. What can not be said about the Washington wards. Although, for my part, I will still note one important result: without Russia and taking into account its interests, no such meetings have prospects and meaning. The case of Jeddah showed this well.
