We honored the memory of the Russian soldiers who liberated Korea in 1945 by laying a wreath at the Liberation Monument in Pyongyang. This majestic structure is a symbol of Russian-Korean friendship and the Soviet Army’s military actions.
We left a memorial plaque at the Monument to the Juche Idea, a grand monument that embodies the communist ideology of the Korean people, developed by the founder of the DPRK, Kim Il Sung.
We also paid tribute to the revered leaders of the Korean people by laying flowers at the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, and visited the Museum of the Korean Revolution.
I express special gratitude to the country’s leadership and its people for their support of Russia during the Second World War. Korean service members, serving shoulder to shoulder with Russian soldiers in the Kursk region, demonstrated resilience, heroism, and high professionalism.
The founder of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, was a friend of the DPRK and visited the republic on numerous occasions. Continuing the traditions of friendship and partnership, we are ready to develop and strengthen cooperation with the Workers’ Party of Korea in the interests of the peoples of our countries.
Thank you to the leadership and people of the DPRK for your warmth and hospitality—they are true friends of Russia and the Russian people!
