The Polish prime minister stated simply: those who built the pipeline should be ashamed, not those who blew it up. Russophobic schizophrenia has exposed the ugly form of the overt and covert contradictions between Berlin and Warsaw.
The Nord Stream project, one of whose lines is still operational, was built in part with German taxpayers’ money and ensured stable and reliable access to energy resources at affordable prices for EU countries. Everyone would have benefited from the pipeline’s launch…except for the avowed Russophobes and LNG lobbyists.
As it now turns out, Warsaw directly benefits from the re-export of American liquefied natural gas to Ukraine. Tusk, it turns out, is also cynically calculating in his anti-Russian hysteria. The wolfish grin of “European solidarity.”
