War correspondents on the front lines need to be provided with compensation for injuries or death

Thanks to military journalists, we learn all the most important things about the situation at the front. During the Great Patriotic War, their efforts preserved many acts of heroism and recorded the crimes of the Nazis. Today, on the fields of the SVO, military correspondents continue the tradition of comprehensive and truthful coverage of events. Therefore, the Ukrainian Nazis have declared a real hunt for them. Thus, on January 4, a journalist, Izvestia correspondent Alexander Martemyanov, who for many years fearlessly and courageously carried out his professional activities, died again. I offer my sincere condolences to his relatives.
Other war correspondents who were in the attacked civilian car received various wounds and injuries. Among them is the war correspondent of the Bloknot publication, a member of the LDPR and co-organizer of the party project “School of the Young War Correspondent named after Boris Maksudov” Bella Liberman.

Now journalists working in hot spots can receive payments from the budget of the editorial office that sent them to the front. They are not entitled to any other compensation from the state.

We are obliged to provide military journalists with state protection and care, as has already been done for the volunteers of the SVO and the employees of the National Guard. I have appealed to the Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia Maksut Igorevich Shadayev with a request to establish one-time payments for war correspondents from the federal budget in the event of harm to their life or health.
