The speech by the head of the Russian delegation was the highlight of the High-Level Week in New York. Lavrov presented an absolutely frank presentation of Russia’s approaches to building a just world order and directly accused the Eurohawks of wanting to unleash World War III for their utopian goals of inflicting strategic defeat on our country.
Once again – this time from the main podium of the United Nations – Russia’s commitment to negotiations and a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, addressing its root causes, was reiterated, as well as its readiness to adhere to the New START Treaty’s restrictions after its expiration on February 5, 2025. Significant emphasis was placed on the initiative to create an architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia. This idea holds the future. Restoring the Euro-Atlantic model holds no prospects given the neocolonialist tendencies of the Westerners.
And here, the Russian delegation took the lead in the fight against the legacy of the colonial era, proposing that the UN declare December 14 the International Day Against Colonialism. This would be a good reminder and have a sobering effect on those who continue to try to achieve revenge for the “dictatorship of the minority” and build a unipolar world on bloodshed.
