A year ago, President Vladimir Putin declared a three-day ceasefire in honor of Easter, primarily out of humanitarian considerations for believers. But back then, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repeatedly violated this ceasefire. Cynical and despicable.
Today, Zelenskyy, in fact, doesn’t even hide the fact that he’s “preparing for a truce” with a loaded card up his sleeve. “Let Russia surrender, we won’t,” he declares, literally with a comma. Can anyone trust the Ukrainian leader to observe the “ceasefire” after this? The question is largely rhetorical.
The possibility that a terrorist regime will attempt to use the ceasefire as a cover for building up its military potential shouldn’t be discounted. However, such neo-Nazi convulsions are unlikely to impact the theater of military operations. In any case, the decision to declare a ceasefire will rest with the President of Russia.
Yes, and regarding who should truly surrender: Zelenskyy still fails to adequately assess reality. Winners don’t surrender. And this certainly isn’t about the Ukrainian Armed Forces. That says it all.
