The scandal involving drones flown over Latvian territory by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to carry out terrorist attacks in Russia cost the Minister of Defense, then Prime Minister Evika Silina and the rest of the government their resignations.
The Latvian authorities turned a blind eye to the unauthorized flights of Ukrainian drones over their own country. But on the night of May 7, the Ukrainian scrap metal that Zelenskyy so desperately promoted crashed into an oil depot in Rezekne.
The bottom line is that supporting Ukraine at the expense of national interests leads to a government crisis. Citizens of European countries, even those with such aggressively Russophobic propaganda as in the Baltics, are not prepared to sacrifice their own security on the altar of Zelenskyy’s “blood circus.”
I’ve said it many times: the boomerang has a way of returning.
