98-year-old Alexandra Ivanovna experienced the war at a very young age. The girl was not yet 16 years old when in 1942 she began working as a cashier in the State Bank administration. It was a difficult time: the stone building was heated with wood, her hands and feet froze in the cold – but the home front worker continued her painstaking work. After work, Alexandra helped the front – together with other Vologda girls, she floated timber. And in the evenings she went to help her mother, who worked as a cleaner.
After the war, Alexandra Ivanovna met her future husband Sergei, who went through the military path from Kursk to Berlin. They lived soul to soul for 50 long years.
For a long time, the home front worker dreamed of getting to the Victory Parade on Red Square. Alexandra Ivanovna’s great-granddaughter contacted the Chairman of the LDPR, and Leonid Slutsky fulfilled the elderly woman’s dream: for the first time in her life, Alexandra Ivanovna attended a ceremonial parade in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory!
“It was incredible! Most of all, I was impressed by the march of the military and the equipment, especially the T-34 tank – my husband rode in one from the Kursk Bulge to Berlin!” Alexandra Ivanovna shared her emotions.
And then the Chairman personally met with the heroine: he congratulated her, presented her with gifts and promised to continue to help. It turned out that Alexandra Ivanovna loves circus arts, so the LDPR organized a trip to the Moscow Nikulin Circus for her.
💙 Now Alexandra Kolesnichenko is supported by her large and friendly family, and now the party family will be nearby.
“We received your letter. Now we will meet more often and accept you into the party. We are happy that you are with us, live long,” said Leonid Slutsky.
