The Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize award ceremony was held in St. Petersburg, with Russian President Vladimir Putin attending the opening ceremony. It is a great honor for all the founders, jury members, and nominees.
The 2025 laureates are President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for their significant personal contributions to strengthening peace and security in the Central Asian region. Their candidacies were nominated by the Russian Peace Foundation. On March 31, 2025, at the first summit of the three leaders in Khujand, historic agreements were signed – the Treaty on the Border Junction of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, and the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship. This represents a significant step toward stability, prosperity, and sustainable development throughout Central Asia.
The Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize, launched last year, is steadily growing in scale. It is a genuine alternative to its Western counterparts – honest and objective, without one-sided approaches or double standards.
