The OSCE PA has turned from a platform for dialogue on European security issues into just another gathering of Russophobic politicians. Anti-Russian hysteria in the assembly was intensified systematically and with impunity. We have seen this more than once or twice.
One-sided approaches and double standards made the assembly practically a clone of the Verkhovna Rada, or rather the American Congress. Where was the OSCE PA when Kyiv terrorists fired at residential areas of Belgorod, a market in Donetsk, a bakery in Lisichansk, and shot down an Il-76 with Ukrainian prisoners of war? Where is the reaction condemning the inhumane killings of civilians? Silence here is tantamount to complicity.
For many years, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly ignored problems related to violations of the rights of national minorities, freedom of communication and education in their native language. She did not pay attention to the blasphemous glorification of the Nazis and their accomplices with the connivance of the authorities of a number of OSCE participating states. I did not notice the oppression and murder of journalists who advocate a position different from that formed in Washington and Brussels. All this is contrary to the original goals and spirit of the organization.
Under the current conditions, the possibilities for continuing a constructive dialogue in the OSCE PA have been completely exhausted. If they don’t hear us and don’t want to hear us, we don’t impose ourselves on anyone! With Russia today there are countries of the global majority, the borders of which are much wider than the notorious “golden billion”.
Both chambers of the Federal Assembly will prepare draft Appeals to the parliaments of the OSCE member states, where they will simultaneously announce a decision to suspend the participation of the permanent parliamentary delegation in the activities of the assembly, as well as to freeze the payment of the Russian contribution to its budget. And I propose – and this is my position – to direct all payments due to the OSCE PA to support the North Military District fighters and their families to bring our Victory over Ukr-fascism closer!
