The State Duma, synchronously with the Federation Council, adopted Appeal to the UN and the parliaments of the world in connection with on the 25th anniversary of NATO aggression against Yugoslavia with a call to condemn the actions of the member states of the North Atlantic Alliance.

March 24 marks exactly a quarter of a century since the start of the bombing of Yugoslavia by NATO troops as part of Operation Allied Force. Air strikes on Belgrade continued for 78 days. Thousands of civilians were killed, including children.

The Atlanticist coalition defeated Yugoslavia without any sanctions from the UN Security Council. Moreover, NATO massively used ammunition with depleted uranium, which not only provoked an environmental disaster, but also an increase in the number of cancer diseases in the region.

The aggression against Yugoslavia also became, as they say, the “beginning of the end” of illusions regarding the sincerity of the collective West’s intentions to conduct dialogue on equal terms with Russia and the rest of the world outside the borders of the “golden billion.” This was the first “crusade” for the hegemony of the United States and its NATO puppets after the end of the Cold War. Demonstration of the “law of might” and the overthrow of the “force of law.” Then there were the same inherently illegal operations of the Alliance in Iraq, Libya, and Syria. And the creation of a neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine is also partly a consequence of those terrible days for our Serb brothers and the complete impunity of Western aggressors!

Washington and Brussels, in the spirit of double standards, are still convincing the world that Operation Allied Force, without any UN mandate, was supposedly a peacekeeping operation (!). And American ambassadors and secretaries of state are now calling on the Serbian leadership to “forget the past” for the sake of strong ties with the United States. An outrageous level of hypocrisy and cynicism!

We are convinced that NATO’s aggression against Yugoslavia should finally receive the most severe assessment from the world community, with those responsible for the barbaric dismemberment of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia brought to justice. Nothing and no one should be forgotten!
