Leonid Slutsky: “All the talk now about whether or not to introduce the collective forces of the CSTO into the territory of Kazakhstan, protests in European capitals against some kind of“ occupation ”are criminal connivance to an international terrorist conglomerate.
Peaceful protest has its boundaries and cannot be accompanied by pogroms, arson, looting, intimidation of the population and armed rebellion against the legitimate authorities. And even more so – by blocking hospitals and beheading law enforcement officers. We have already seen this, including recently in Syria and Iraq, this is a clear signature of external terrorist intervention.
In this situation, the introduction of the CSTO peacekeeping contingent, and at the official request of the Kazakh leadership, is the only possible and correct way not only to normalize the situation in Kazakhstan, but also to ensure general security in the region. We cannot allow terrorism and armed aggression on the streets of the fraternal country, where many of our fellow citizens still have relatives, parents, brothers and sisters. “
